Overnight in Cairo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Begin your tour visiting the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in central Cairo, home to a rare collection spanning 5,000 years of civilization. The museum showcases over 250,000 authentic artifacts, highlighted by the royal funerary treasures of King Tutankhamun, including exquisite gold jewelry and artifacts sealed in his tomb for more than 3,500 years until Howard Carter's discovery in the 1920s.
Next, head to the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids: Khufu (Cheops), Khafre (Chephren), and Menkaure (Mykerinos). The Great Pyramid of Khufu is celebrated as the largest pyramid ever constructed. Continue to the Great Sphinx—the colossal guardian statue featuring the body of a lion and the facial features of Pharaoh Khafre—and the Valley Temple. Transfer back to your hotel.
(Optional: Evening Sound and Light Show on the Giza Plateau).
Overnight in Cairo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Cairo Airport for your morning flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, meet our representative and cross the River Nile to explore Luxor's West Bank necropolis.
Tour the Valley of the Kings, descending into ancient pharaonic burial chambers. Continue to the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahari, integrated into the towering desert cliffs. On the return drive, stop for photos at the Colossi of Memnon—two giant quartzite seated statues of Amenhotep III facing the Nile.
Cross to the East Bank of Luxor to tour the Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious complex ever constructed in antiquity. Walk down the Avenue of Sphinxes, see the unfinished entrance pylons, and marvel at the Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 towering columns, the obelisks of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, the lotus-and-papyrus-decorated sanctuary of Amun-Ra, and the Sacred Lake.
