Tour Details

Your Ramasside tour guide will pick you up directly from Borg El Arab Airport. Begin your journey with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the world’s largest library with a capacity of 8 million volumes. Tour the open plaza to view the statues of Alexander the Great and Ptolemy I, which were retrieved from the seabed nearby.

Inside, explore the grand reading hall, the President Sadat Museum, and the Alexandria Impressions Exhibition.

(Note: Bibliotheca Alexandrina is closed on Fridays and public holidays).

Continue to the Roman Amphitheatre of Alexandria and view the outdoor exhibition of submerged monuments discovered beneath the East Harbor of Alexandria.

Next, drive to Saint Mark’s Church, widely recognized as the oldest church in Africa. Then, wander through the historic heart of Alexandria on foot. Explore vibrant traditional markets offering everything from fresh wares to classic Egyptian sweets and pastries. Along the way, admire distinctive architecture featuring Baroque, Italian, and French heritage facades.

Visit the Nabi Daniel Mosque, locally associated with the legendary tomb of Alexander the Great. It is also believed to hold the remains of the venerated scholar Daniel and his companion Sidi Lokman el Hakim.

Optional Lunch: Savor fresh Mediterranean seafood at an upscale restaurant or try Alexandria’s famous culinary landmark, Mohamed Ahmed's restaurant—beloved by celebrities, including the Queen of Spain.

Optional Break: Stop for relaxation at a curated modern cafe or an authentic shisha cafe.

Proceed past Mansheya’s historic trading quarter and walk through Zan'et El Setat, the bustling women’s market lined with vibrant alleyways, as well as the renowned Gold Souk where Alexandrians purchase bridal jewelry.

Your vehicle will take you to Alexandria’s grandest and most striking mosque: Abbo Elabbas Mosque. Outside, witness the nostalgic local fairground where children ride vintage wooden carousels and enjoy cotton candy.

Opposite the mosque, look out over the Corniche and the old fishing harbor filled with traditional wooden boats, net-repairing fishermen, and panoramic sea vistas perfect for photography. Continue along the promenade to view the majestic exterior of Citadel of Qaitbay, erected on the exact site of the ancient Pharos Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Afterwards, head along the scenic 25-kilometer coastline towards Montaza Palace and Royal Gardens, passing historical coastal points including the ancient sunken port where over 7,000 submerged artifacts were retrieved. You may make an optional 2-minute drive-thru stop at "King of Mango" for freshly squeezed tropical juices and a brief photo stop at Alexandria's Unknown Soldier Memorial.

At Montaza Gardens—popularly nicknamed the "Garden of Love" by locals—stroll through King Farouk’s lush royal landscapes. Admire the stunning royal architecture of Al-Haramlik and As-Salamlek palaces, cross the iconic Montaza Bridge over the Mediterranean to the Tea Palace Island, and look out over the private royal coves.

On the return leg, enjoy a scenic stop at the landmark Stanley Bridge, the icon of modern Alexandria, before traveling comfortably back to Borg El Arab Airport or your Alexandria hotel.
