Embark on an unforgettable underwater archaeological adventure in Alexandria. Your Ramasside Tours representative and private driver will meet you directly at your hotel to begin your coastal excursion.

Transfer to the dive center, where certified dive masters will fit you with professional scuba gear and conduct a detailed safety briefing before boarding your dive boat. Submerge into the Mediterranean Sea to explore the sunken ruins of two world-famous ancient sites: the submerged remnants of the Pharos Lighthouse (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World) and the underwater royal quarters of Cleopatra’s Palace. Throughout the dive, certified instructors guarantee safety while guiding you through ancient granite columns, sphinxes, and local marine life before escorting you comfortably back to your hotel.

Detailed Itinerary

Morning Hotel Pickup & Dive Center Preparation

Your Ramasside Tours representative and driver will greet you at your hotel lobby in Alexandria holding a personalized company sign. Travel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to the local dive center situated near Alexandria’s Eastern Harbor.

Meet your certified PADI dive instructors and undergo an orientation session covering equipment handling, dive routes, underwater hand signals, and environmental guidelines. Receive complete scuba gear, including wetsuit, mask, fins, regulator, and BCD.

Underwater Exploration: Cleopatra's Sunken Palace & Pharos Lighthouse

Board your dive boat and cruise out into the historic waters of the Eastern Harbor and the bay of Fort Qaitbay.

• Cleopatra's Sunken Royal Quarters (Antirhodos Island): Dive into clear waters where earthquakes and tsunamis submerged ancient royal Alexandria over a millennium ago. Swim among sunken Greco-Roman columns, carved stone pedestals, paved palace courtyards, and submerged sphinxes resting on the seabed.
• The Pharos Lighthouse Ruins: Explore the underwater archaeological field off the foot of Qaitbay Citadel, where massive red granite blocks, monumental capitals, and architectural fragments of the legendary ancient lighthouse lie scattered across the Mediterranean sea floor.

Certified dive guides remain alongside you throughout the dive, pointing out historic masonry, amphora fragments, and Mediterranean sea life.

Return Transfer

Following your dive session, cruise back to the harbor dock to rinse off, change, and log your dive. Your private vehicle will then transfer you comfortably back to your hotel in Alexandria.

Private meet-and-assist airport transfers between Alexandria airports and your hotel are available for $30 per transfer. (Transfers starting from remote locations such as Cairo Heliopolis or 6th of October City are subject to an additional surcharge).

Fast-Track Visa-on-Arrival

Save time upon landing with pre-arranged entry visa assistance for eligible passport holders for $35 per person. Simply send a passport copy prior to travel.

Diving Requirements & Safety Notes

• Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) is recommended for archaeological dives. Introductory / discovery dive options for beginners are available upon request.
• Bring swimwear, a personal towel, and dry clothes.

Child Policy

• Under 10 years: Not permitted for scuba diving excursions
• 10 – 11.99 years: Junior dive rates apply upon request (must meet certification criteria)
• 12+ years: Full adult rate
