On your first day in Cairo, explore the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, home to an invaluable collection of ancient art spanning over 5,000 years, alongside the monumental Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx. On Day 2, take a domestic flight south to Aswan to tour the High Dam and Philae Temple before boarding your 5-star Nile cruise. Over the following days, sail the Nile River visiting the riverside sanctuaries of Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Luxor—with guided excursions to Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, and the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Conclude your holiday flying back to Cairo for your final airport departure.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo / Giza Pyramids & Egyptian Museum

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met inside the terminal by our Ramasside Tours representative holding a personalized sign. Transfer in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle to begin your sightseeing.

First, explore the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Tahrir Square, home to a world-renowned collection spanning over 5,000 years of pharaonic civilization. Discover over 250,000 authentic artifacts, including the glittering gold treasures, jewelry, and burial artifacts of King Tutankhamun discovered in his tomb in the 1920s.

Next, travel to the Giza Plateau to behold the Great Pyramids of Giza (Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure). Marvel at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest stone pyramid ever constructed. Stand before the Great Sphinx, the massive limestone monument featuring a lion’s body and the royal face of Pharaoh Khafre.

Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

(Note: If late flight arrival prevents touring on this day, sightseeing can be rescheduled to the final day prior to departure).

Day 2: Cairo to Aswan – Nile Cruise Embarkation & Philae Temple

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, visit the Aswan High Dam, an engineering marvel completed in the 1960s, and take a boat transfer across the Nile to explore the sacred island Temple of Isis at Philae.

Transfer to embark on your 5-star luxury Nile cruise ship.

Lunch, dinner, and overnight on board in Aswan.

Day 3: Nile Cruise – Kom Ombo & Edfu Temples

Cruise along the river toward Kom Ombo. Enjoy afternoon tea on the sun deck before exploring the unique symmetrical double Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated jointly to Sobek the crocodile god and Haroeris the winged falcon god.

Continue sailing toward Edfu. Dinner is served on board, followed by an evening party and music. Overnight on board in Edfu.

Day 4: Nile Cruise – Edfu Temple to Luxor

Breakfast on board. Take a horse-drawn carriage to explore the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the most intact and complete cult temple in Egypt. Pass through the river locks of Esna as you cruise northward toward Luxor.

(Optional Excursion): Enjoy a guided tour of Luxor's East Bank with an English-speaking Egyptologist. Explore the sprawling Karnak Temple complex, dedicated to Amun, his consort Mut, and their son Khonsu, built across successive dynasties from the Middle Kingdom through the Greco-Roman period. Proceed to Luxor Temple, initiated by Amenhotep III (18th Dynasty) and completed by Ramesses II (19th Dynasty), admiring its grand colonnades, courtyards, and the towering granite obelisk of Ramesses the Great.

Dinner on board. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 5: Luxor West Bank – Flight to Cairo

Breakfast on board followed by disembarkation.

(Optional: Early morning hot air balloon ride drifting over the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, and the Theban mountain range for 30–45 minutes).

Cross over to Luxor's West Bank to explore the Theban Necropolis. Discover the royal rock-cut burial chambers in the Valley of the Kings, visiting tombs across various New Kingdom dynasties. Tour the terraced Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and stop before the towering Colossi of Memnon, two massive quartzite statues representing Amenhotep III facing the Nile.

Transfer to Luxor Airport for your domestic flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, private transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 6: Cairo – Final Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Your Ramasside Tours representative will provide private transfer to Cairo International Airport and assist you through departure procedures for your onward flight.
