Your journey begins when your Ramasside Tours representative meets you at your Cairo hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle and escorts you to the domestic departures terminal for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival at Luxor Airport, your expert Egyptologist guide will be waiting outside the terminal holding a Ramasside sign.
From the moment your excursion starts, your guide will give you their undivided attention. While traveling, your guide will share fascinating insights about the landmarks along the route and discuss any special interests you wish to explore.
Travel in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to the magnificent Karnak Temple complex, the largest religious site ever constructed. Stroll along the Avenue of Sphinxes, walk through the monumental Great Hypostyle Hall supported by 134 towering sandstone columns, gaze upon the towering obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, and admire the Temple of Amun adorned with lotus and papyrus motifs.
Next, cross over to the world-renowned Valley of the Kings, the historic royal burial ground of Egypt's New Kingdom monarchs, including the young Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Here, pharaonic tombs were carved deep into the limestone cliffs, richly painted and stocked with treasures for the afterlife. You will explore three royal tombs. (Note: To safeguard these fragile antiquities against high visitor footfall, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities rotates which three tombs are open daily, meaning the specific accessible tombs cannot be guaranteed prior to arrival).
You will also enjoy exclusive interior access inside the Tomb of King Tutankhamun. King Tutankhamun ruled Egypt for roughly a decade (c. 1336–1327 BC). In November 1922, Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon uncovered his nearly intact tomb in the Valley of the Kings. The pharaoh's mummified body was found surrounded by invaluable treasures inside his solid gold coffin when the burial chamber was officially unsealed on February 17, 1923. Today, Tutankhamun remains ancient Egypt's most famous ruler—and your guide will reveal captivating, lesser-known facts about the boy king throughout your visit.
Continue to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. Dedicated to Egypt’s prominent female pharaoh, this monumental structure rises from the desert floor in tiered colonnaded terraces harmonizing with the sheer cliffs behind. On the return drive, stop at the Colossi of Memnon—two massive stone statues depicting Amenhotep III facing the Nile.
Luxor has endless sights, artisan markets, and historic treasures; if you wish to add further stops or customize your day, inform your guide and we will gladly tailor your itinerary.
At the end of your tour, you will be transferred back to Luxor Airport for your return flight to Cairo, followed by a private transfer back to your hotel.
