Day 2 :Mummies Experience & Giza Pyramids

Breakfast. Start your tour visiting the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is the only museum in Egypt which offers a general overview of all the all different historical periods of Egypt. It has more than 50,000 artefacts, presenting Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day.

The crown jewel of the museum is the Mummies Halls. The whole world has been amazed with the Pharaoh’s Golden Parade of 22 Royal Mummies from the Old Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to their new permanent residence in the National Museum of Civilization.

Among the Mummies are mummies of King Ramses the second, Queen Hatshepsut, King Thutmos the third and Queen Ahmos Nefertary. The Royal Mummies Hall is specially designed to display the mummies of ancient Egypt. The design and the underground location of Mummies aims to give the visitors the feeling of strolling down the Valley of kings where most of the mummies were originally resting. The Royal Mummies Hall exhibited about 150 pieces, including the mummies as well as their coffins. For the first time, each mummy will be exhibited near the coffin where it was found. The mummies are now placed inside special halls below the main hall, symbolizing the “underworld” in which the royal mummies were found.

Then you will have a chance to visit the Main exhibition halls which showcase Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day, using a multidisciplinary approach that highlights the country’s tangible and intangible heritage

Then move to visit the Great Pyramids – Cheops, Chephren & Mykerions. Cheops is the most colossal ever built. Next is a close-up look at Sphinx – a huge funeral complex guarded by the legendary lion body with the face of king Chephren.

(Optional) Evening trip to attend the Sound & Light show in the Pyramids area.

Overnight in Cairo.

Then your tour guide will take you to visit the Jewelry museum , You will not only enjoy the luxurious interiors of the palace preserved in its original nature, but also admire the decorations and household items of the royal family of Mohammed Ali’s dynasty. The museum is located in a luxurious building of exquisite neoclassical architecture. The royal decorations exhibited inside the palace are true works of art. The museum includes about 11,500 artifacts that were once personal belongings and gifts belonging to the family and descendants of Mohammed Ali. And recently, other jewels of the Mohamed Ali family, which had been pledged for six decades at the Central Bank of Egypt, have joined the collection of the museum.

Note: Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays and on every public holiday. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase an extra ticket.

Accommodations Plans:

Kindly note that the hotel rating in Egypt is NOT the same as in the USA or Europe.

High standard hotels

To ensure you enjoy the quality of accommodation on your trip, we created a list of Luxury or Ultimate Luxury hotels for clients who would normally stay in western 5 star hotels. We only recommend the Luxury or Ultimate Luxury options when staying in Egypt if you want a hotel that is recognised as 4-5 star in USA/UK etc

Basic hotels

5 star hotels, as graded in Egypt, simply provide basic accommodation - similar to 3 star in most parts of Europe and are NOT recommended by us. 5 star hotels, as graded in Egypt, are suitable for customers who can be satisfied staying in 2-3 star accommodation in the USA / UK etc.

Our Luxury plan or Ultimate Luxury plan, (plans B and C) are always recommended as the minimum you should book when visiting Egypt.

Note: We book hotels and cruise ships according to availability on your travel dates.

Note: Some hotels raise their rates on peak times without prior notice. So, if you request a specific hotel or cruise by name, kindly bear in mind that there might be extra supplement in case the requested hotel raised their rates.

Cruise schedules & Sailing times:

Sometimes due to sailing conditions on the Nile river, some Cruises itineraries, schedule and sailing times may be updated. We assure that our clients will see all what is on their itineraries but maybe in different order.

Domestic Flights:

The programs quote the average price of domestic flights with approximate timings.

Requests for specific flight times or changes to previously booked reservations may result in changes to the total price of the package.

Some flights to Sharm or Hurghada are indirect flights via Cairo Airport.

During certain times of the year, high seasons and last-minute bookings, flight tickets can become very expensive without prior notice, which may result in additional charges.

Travelling by overnight train:

We don’t recommend travelling by the overnight train, it takes15 to 18 hours on a very noisy train. The toilets are not good and smelly. Food is not good in general and beds are moderately comfortable.

If you don't fancy travelling by overnight sleeper train then upgrade to our flight option. Enjoying extra nights of comfort in 5-star hotel accommodation. We recommend that you upgrade this transfer to domestic flight.

Children Policy:

0 - 01.99 Free of Charge (unless flights were included)

2 - 5.99 pay 25% of tour price and 50% of tour price if it includes flights or sleeper train
