Tour Details

Pickup from your hotel and travel to Alexandria. The first visit will be inside the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the largest Roman cemetery, consisting of three levels carved into the rock.

Then, you will head to the Roman Amphitheatre of Alexandria, with its exhibition of the sunken monuments of Alexandria, which were discovered beneath Alexandria’s Eastern Harbour. You will also pass by Pompey’s Pillar and stop for a photo. The pillar was built in honor of Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century.

The next stop is the Library of Alexandria, the largest library in the world, now containing 8 million books. Visit its open courtyard, where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy I, which was found underwater nearby.

You will also visit the President Sadat Museum and the impressions of the Alexandria Museum.

Note: The Library of Alexandria is closed on all public holidays.

The car will then take you to visit St. Mark’s Church, the oldest church in Africa. Along the way, you will see the old city center and the local historic architecture, featuring Baroque-style designs and Italian- and French-style properties.

Optional lunch is available at a modern seafood restaurant or at a famous traditional Alexandrian restaurant called Mohamed Ahmed’s. The Queen of Spain and many other famous people visit this restaurant when they come to Alexandria.

You will also pass by Abbo Elabbas Mosque for a photo stop. It is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the city. Outside the mosque, you will see an unusual sight: an old amusement park where children enjoy very old rides and eat cotton candy.

Across from it is the Corniche and the old port, where you can see old fishing boats, fishermen at work, and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken here are incredible.

Continue to see the exterior of Qaitbay Citadel, which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is a spectacular castle and a great place for photos.

The car will then take you to the Montaza Gardens. On the way, you can make a quick 2-minute stop at King of Mango to enjoy freshly squeezed juices from Alexandria’s drive-through. You can also stop for photos at the Alexandria Unknown Soldier Memorial.

The beautiful coastline and city views will accompany you on the way to Montaza Palace and Gardens, located approximately 25 km away. Along the route, you will also see the old port of Alexandria, where around 7,000 monuments have been discovered underwater.

Once you arrive at Montaza Gardens, commonly known as the “Garden of Love,” a popular destination for romantic couples and families, you will visit the royal gardens of King Farouk, the last king in Egypt’s history.

You will see the royal palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek, walk across the famous Montaza Bridge, reach the Tea Palace Island, and see the royal beaches of the queens.

On your way back, you will pass by the famous Stanley Bridge, a modern landmark of Alexandria, and then travel comfortably back to your hotel in Cairo.

Alexandria has so much to see, experience, eat, and shop. If you have time and would like to add anything else to your itinerary, simply let us know what interests you and we will arrange it for you at cost price, with no profit for us.
