Day 1: El Alamein and the Old City of Siwa
Your Ramasside Tours guide will be waiting for you holding a Ramasside sign—no need to look for them, they will be waiting and will find you.
From the moment your tour begins, your guide will give you their undivided attention. Once in the vehicle, your guide will talk about everything you will see along the route, as well as any other aspects of the tour that interest you. Begin the excursion by driving toward El Alamein; stop at El Alamein, where you will experience the historic site of a major World War II battle. Continue along the Mediterranean coast toward the picturesque bay of Marsa Matrouh for lunch, then proceed toward Siwa. The drive from El Alamein to Siwa takes approximately 5 hours by car. Upon arrival, visit the Old City of Siwa (Shali) and enjoy dinner with local Bedouin people.
Overnight stay at Siwa Paradise Hotel (or similar).
Day 2: Mountain of the Dead, Temple of Alexander, and 4x4 Safari
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Mountain of the Dead (Gabal El Mawta), where you can view ancient rock-cut tombs such as the Tomb of Si-Amun, MSW-Isis, and the Crocodile Tomb. Next, visit Gara Cave, a natural cavity hollowed out by rainwater in Eocene limestone (formed 55 million years ago). Prehistoric people likely inhabited the cave during the late Neolithic period, as evidenced by artifacts and rock art discovered inside.
Visit the Temple of Alexander the Great and Cleopatra’s Bath, enjoy lunch, and embark on an exciting 4x4 safari before returning to Alexandria.
